I just realised that the post I thought I had done on Halloween is not actually here. I won’t make it a long one, but I’ll fill you in on what I did!
We had a whole series of meetings about the restructure of our Senior Management at work, which has made everyone really sad. To one of the meetings I made a massive bowl of Fall Puppy Chow using a recipe I used yonks ago, from here, at Sally’s Baking Addiction. I basically used this without the nuts. Then I added in a combination of Candy Corn, Candy Corn m&m’s and Fall m&m’s. Everyone really loved it!
Halloween Puppy Chow
We made Glue and glitter spiders webs that were from here, and I used this idea for trying to make my amazing looking pumpkins last the distance (The link isn’t working to the website, but the instructions are on the Pinterest Link).
Photo to come…my photo streaming is taking forever! 😦
We made Paint Chip Pumpkins and Frankensteins too, but those photos are at work and I will add them Monday.
I got this idea from this post that I came across during Halloween and different things to do during Fall.
So I thought it would be kinda fun to see if I could actually grow my own Halloween Pumpkin for next year. Little did i realize how successful I was actually going to be. I kept all the insides of my pumpkin (seeds and all) and put a few giant handfuls of it into a pot with soil instead of using a pumpkin like they have in the picture in the blog. I didn’t think i should plant them all as I had no idea what was going to happen to them so I just stuck the rest in the compost. I thought I was going to get maybe one or two plants, a half dozen if I was really lucky.
BUT…I was WRONG! So very very very wrong!
There have been close to 50 plants that have shot up, and not just in the pot I planted them in, but from the compost too!
Now I’ll just have to wait and see what happens to them after I replant some out so they have more space, maybe I’ll even bring some to school to plant. I will be super happy if just even one of these seedlings makes it to the fruit bearing stage and I get one tiny pumpkin out of it. We will just have to wait and see!
So it has been a little bit since I have done a post, but I promise its for a good reason! I have been talking about this assignment I had due in the last couple of posts I made…
WELL………..it FINALLY finished!
Last monday I finished my last paper for my PostGrad Degree in Early Childhood. It is so exciting to finally have it finished! I am thinking about what I will do next whether I do my Masters, which is an extention of this PostGrad degree or whether I do something with Business Management, which is kinda my job…so many things to think about…
But anyways…my recent Pinteresting experiences…
Since Halloween has been and gone since I last wrote, I will tell you about some of the things that I did with the kids at school. We ahd a whole week of Halloween art and craft. We made witches (not exactly like our but was instiration), Frankensteins, Spiders, Spider hats. It was amazing and the kids LOVED it!
The kids weren’t the only ones to have a bit of fun with Halloween and I got right into the spirit. I carved my 3rd Halloween pumpkin and I think it looked pretty good…but my food item this year (bc I always have to make a Halloween treat) were sugar cookies with royal icing pictures. The idea for the patterns came from here in LilaLoa. I went looking for a royal icing recipe and came across Glorious Treats. On this blog I came across a sugar cookie recipe too which is the one I ended up using. The tips that are on there for decorating Chevron Pumpkin Cookies came in handy too when I started decorating them. I decided to pick the purple monsters and the pumkins…well after all it was Halloween. I think the end result was amazing and all the family LOVED them (which is the most important part!).
Apart from this Halloween stuff I have also been finishing off my Boot Cuffs, and even my Mum is tring some of her Pinterest recipes for dinner…which have all been outstanding too!
This has been a bit of a long post and I hear coffee calling my name, the headache is beginning….and I need to sort out my new Mac! WOOHOO!
